There’s something amazing about the potential of a tiny seed. Some are so small it’s difficult to see them and yet they hold promise of beauty, fragrance or taste that is beyond our imagination. Maybe you’ve planted a seed before and you are already drawn to this seemingly impossible transformation, or maybe you’ve never thought of yourself as a gardener and dared to try. My hope with this blog is to invite anyone and everyone into this world of potential, to plant a seed.

Sharing Seeds
Costaluto Tomato Seeds Traded Locally
One seed produces a plant that blooms or fruits, and each of these produces an abundance of seeds. This opens the door to opportunities for sharing seed within your community, and for you to find seeds close to home for little or no cost. Seeds of Diversity is a charitable organization in Canada that promotes Seedy Saturday and Seedy Sunday seed swap events across the country. Even if you’re just getting started and don’t have seeds to share just yet, check out one of these events in your community to get your hands on a wide variety of seeds that will get you going on your gardening journey. It’s also worth exploring local classified or trading communities in your area to find low cost or free seed from local gardeners.

If you're looking for something special, there are so many wonderful seed shops both locally and across Canada that will have lots of selection and unique varieties.
